History: Medical leader for VCA Inc for 14 years with a focus on nurse development, patient safety and patient care. Clinically worked in emergency/critical care and very quickly saw how much of an impact nurses have on improving patient outcomes.
Current area of focus: Continual improvement in patient safety, patient care and ultimately patient outcomes. Currently work with the MVH Global Nurse Council, MVH Global Patient Safety Team and MVH Quality Council to improve the patient safety culture, teamwork and efficiency in our hospitals. Working with Johns Hopkins to integrate team training and culture programs like TeamStepps into MVH hospitals.
