Education Coordinator at Mountain West Veterinary Specialists

Emily has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She graduated from Ridgewater College in 1999 and obtained her specialty in emergency/ critical care in 2006. She has worked in general practice, feline only practice, after hours emergency and 24-hour emergency/specialty. She has taught veterinary technicians at both the associates and bachelor's level. Her interests include toxicology, feline emergency care, dialysis, lateral and vertical violence in the veterinary setting, compassion fatigue and trauma. She has been published on the topic of renal replacement therapy in Veterinary Technician's Manual for Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care second edition and has lectured nationally and locally. She is currently the Education Director at Mountain West Veterinary Specialists in Layton Utah, Member at Large for the Utah Society of Veterinary Technicians and Assistants and a Moderator for Not One More Vet Support Staff. She spends her free time desperately trying to make friends with the family of stray cats that live with her.
