Title: Strategies for Prevention of POI

Description:

On-demand access available through October 11th, 2022. 

This is a session intended for those involved in the surgical management or post-operative care of equine colic patients.  The focus of this session will be discussion and illustration of specific surgical techniques during small intestinal resection/anastomosis that may help reduce risk of POI, along with pro-active medical treatment and monitoring of these cases.  Management and monitoring of the medical refluxing patient due to gastric stasis or small intestinal inflammatory bowel diseases will also be discussed.
